Their primary objective is to deal as much damage as possible which means surviving is optional. It can be advantageous to get into an encounter and kill multiple heroes then perish. In some cases, getting out becomes optional. ![]() Their aim is to get in, deal damage, and get out. Their damage output is significantly higher but they cannot sustain long-term battles. These heroes are similar to bruisers except they are much more fragile. This group is the second most populated group with 17 heroes. The ideal candidate is able to be thrown into a lane by themselves and survive while dealing decent damage. They aren’t as flimsy as their Assassin counterparts and often have abilities to help them restore health. They focus on dealing damage and surviving. There are 13 tanks currently in Heroes of the Storm. They have much bigger health pools and often have ways to mitigate damage entirely. They accomplish this in a variety of ways, some more direct than others. These heroes have a primary function to protect the weaker heroes such as melee and ranged assassins. Tanks are the front line and the protectors of any composition.
